Nick and I got a group of people together yesterday to head down to Burraston Ponds down in Mona. We ended up with 15 people and we had a great time!  Nick was the first one to take the plunge.  Rose brought some kayaks that we had a lot of fun with!  Christeen is up in the tree on the right and there's several people in the kayaks on the left side.  It was a fun rope swing! I got someone else to take this shot as I took the plunge.  Mckell getting ready to swing!  And she leaps!
Nick and I organized a campout and invited everyone on our block which entails two wards. We ended up with 50 people there that night for the bonfire and 25 of them stayed the night!  I took this picture before it got too dark to take pictures. Not everyone was there yet.  Nick and I setup a projector screen and once it got dark we watched Kung Fu Panda.  The next morning Nick and I made an amazing breakfast of pancakes, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, bacon and orange juice for the people who had camped out.
 It was a pretty nice camping spot which worked well for the crowd that we had.  These are some signs we had thrown together as we drove to the camp site and we left them along the road so that people could find us. Last weekend I decided to go down to Moab as part of a huge group of people that I knew were going down. The organizers are just students like everyone else and this is the fourth year they’ve organized this event now. I heard about this event months ago from facebook and I saw a friend of mine was going. I asked her about it and she highly recommended going having gone previously. I decided to ride my motorcycle down because I’ve wanted to do a longer trip on it for a while. This trip ended up being a blast! There was a total of about 260 people who went!  This is right after I arrived at the camground in Moab. It had rained for about half an hour on the way, but I was mostly dry at this point.  The sunset was cool.  Shortly after arriving this beautiful rainbow appeared. I couldn't frame the whole thing in my camera because it was too large so this is made up of 4 pictures merged together.  This is one of my favorite pictures of the trip! 
 I'm in the bottom of this picture having just finished the climb and I was rappelling down.  We all met in the Moab city park to go as a group to the delicate arch. Of course we're going to play ultimate while we're waiting!  This is the group shot we got of everyone at the delicate arch. There are 185 people in this picture!  After the arch picture we had everyone go to the ridge and we took a sunset silhouette shot. Nick and I are on the right side on that large outcropping of rock.  This spells out MMT in case you can't tell.  After we got back from the delicate arch hike some people stayed up watching a movie. They used the side of a large white enclosed trailer as the movie screen.  Terence is amazing doing a flying leap off this rock! There is a cool sequence of images that I recommend checking out in my photo gallery or on facebook.  This is a sequence shot I did of Terence during the jumping distance contest.  More cool acrobatics off the rock!  The girls raced down the dune and as you can see they spread out quite a bit. The guys raced just before this but I didn't get any pictures because I was racing.  This is everyone who was at the 'Sand Hill Photoshoot' as I call it. This is the first of a sequence that is of Terence leaping out of the crowd.  We went to that waterfall in the background and the water was COLD!  The organizers put on a BBQ for all 260 people! They were churning out corn on the cob, chicken, steak and toasted bread on 7 grills!
 Nick took this shot for me right when I got back to Provo. As you can kind of see I'm still wet from the ride home. It probably rained for an hour on the way back. We had a ward activity up at Rock Canyon Park today and this was the activity after the BBQ.  After everyone was given a can of shaving cream we ran around attacking each other!  Here's a group shot after the war.  It was a ton of fun...and we hadn't even started the slip and slide yet!  Nick did an awesome flying leap onto the slide!  There were crazy trains.  And just traditional methods of using a slip and slide.  Even Bishop got involved!  There were less traditional methods of sliding along with awesome hair styles!  And awesome hair styles there were many!  I wasn't kidding about there being a lot of awesome hair styles! Tonight I went to the park with some friends and we took night pictures with glow sticks and other odds and ends. We ended up with some fun pictures!  Andrew is attacking Chase with a blast off energy!  Each of us had a person behind us painting with their cell phones. We used our own cell phones to light up faces.  More cell phone paintings.  Now we all had glowsticks and we were battling each other!  I really liked how this one of Sarah turned out! Doing these shots takes a lot of teamwork and timing. One person flashed a light on her for a few seconds then a second person ran into the frame and painted the wings. I went down with some friends this weekend to do some hiking in Zion NP. We hiked Angels landing and a few other smaller places such as the Emerald Pools and Temple of Sinawava.  Adam looking like a hip hiker. I love that the Zion shuttle showed up just in time for the picture.  I ran across these chipmunks up near the top that were zipping all over the place. I managed to get this awesome shot while they were twirling in a circle!  This one held still long enough for me to get a shot off.  It's amazing to me that those trees can live up there on practically bare rock!  The whole crew at the tip top of Angels Landing.  What are we thinking you ask? I think I was estimating how many feet I thought it was to the valley floor below. The answer is 1,488 feet!  Noel getting his meditation on.  I love this picture.  When we were at the Emerald Pools we saw these people rappelling down a 455 foot (done in a 290 and 165 feet sections) rappel at the end of the Heaps Canyon hike!  This shows the entire cliff face. That red box near the center outlines where the person is rappelling down the wall!  Here's an up close crop of that person in the previous picture. Since everyone had school and work off due to memorial day we decided to go on a hike. I suggested we hike to the top of Y-Mountain since most people I know haven’t done it. We ended up with 14 people starting out and we had a grand time!  This was the 'before' shot as we were about to embark on the steepest hike most of us have ever done  I wish we had gotten someone to take a picture of what we looked like from out in the valley!
 No this isn't the top of the mountain. Just an outcropping of rock that we thought was fun to climb on.  There were some beautiful 'meadows' that were much steeper than they look.  This is the crew that finally made it to the top! There were some convenient logs to sit on.  This is a picture of the block that I live on. The brown house in the center bottom is where the following pictures were taken from.  This picture was taken 2.3 miles away (in a straight line) and zoomed in on.  Here is the actual picture from the camera with a 250mm lens (1.6 crop factor)  Can you see the small red square where we are?  Now can you see where we are on the entire mountain? Well I put a small square for you in case you can't.
 This is the after picture of the group with the mountain we conquered behind us! The other day I was chilling in my apartment seeing that it was raining outside when there was a knock on the back door. I went to check out it and there was a group of people from my ward soaking wet from playing in the rain! They of course all had to give me hugs, then I went with them to get some pictures. It was at about 8:30pm so it was a challenge to get non blurry pictures.
 Matt got a surprise in this picture! I was attacked on my birthday with frosting topped cupcakes and this is the result. Then someone else “decorated” my car.  Here's the proof that my friends love me...  That wasn't proof enough? Well how about this?  Or this I went up to Provo Canyon with some friends last Saturday for a bonfire as I’ve done many times in the past, but this time I left my camera in the car. The reason being is that I was helping Sarah who just bought the same camera that I have learn how to use the camera and do low light photography with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. I’m in more of these pictures than normal because Sarah was taking most of the pictures!  This was a 25 second exposure of the park. On the left there are some light trails from a glowing frisbee that was being thrown around.  This is 30 second exposure pointed directly at the ultimate frisbee game that was going on. Only ghosts of people can be seen but the trail of the frisbee is nicely traced.  Our group is the one at the middle left. The park was popular that night and there were lots of groups there. This was a 10 second exposure.
